STYLE FILE // : 5 Fall Essentials

Autumn. In my world, it is the most anticipated season of the year. There is nothing like waking up on that first morning of crisp weather, seeing the leaves blow down the street and having to put socks on because your toes are cold. Everything is better in the fall. The world is a better place. Food tastes better, the air smells better. I feel like the world really starts over once the weather starts to cool down…so right now, I am one happy lil lady. Now that it really is starting to feel fall-ish here in Texas I have been having so much fun getting dressed. For me, I generally have 5 things that I tend to wear once fall hits. Long patterned dresses (dresses that I wore all summer get a new life in fall when you add jackets and scarves and sweaters on top of them), huge oversized sweaters, a chunky scarf, boots and a felt hat. Fall dressing is so fun because you finally get to wear ALL of your favorite clothes (even all at once if you want)! I’m a huge fan of layering so in this outfit I just grabbed some of my favorite cool weather pieces and put them all together.  My dress is a 70s vintage beauty that I purchased from Squash Blossom Vintage. My boots are my most worn shoes in my closet, they are by NANA…a similar pair can be found HERE. My scarf is from Target. My sweater is vintage. My hat is from Lack of Color. I love how the earthy tones of the dress contrast with the vibrant and bold design on this huge wool sweater. You can never do wrong with some ankle cowboy boots and of course a neutral colored scarf and hat. Fall, I am glad you are here to stay.

My friend Kat of Always and Forever Photography asked me and Sara Rash to be a part of this joint blog post and I was thrilled! You can check out Kat’s 5 fall essentials HERE and Sara’s HERE.! They are both fellow Texas gals and both have stellar style. You can follow them on Instagram @AandFPhotos and @SaraLRash and be inspired everyday!

NEED // Lion And Anvil

Lion & Anvil is a durable goods company here in Texas that handcrafts some pretty amazing leather pieces inspired by American grit. Pieces that you will have forever and that will be passed down for generations to come. Durable. Tough. Bad to the bone. We are big fans of all that they make over here, and I’m sure you will be too. I love that they are simple pieces but they have a just a little edge to them. Stiles is wearing the russet brown belt in these photos. The rich, enduring leather just gets better with time. It has an awesome rawhide detail around the buckle and you can choose the type of metal you want for the rivets and buckle…which totally rocks. If you are looking for a fathers day gift for the men in your life anything from Lion & Anvil would fit the bill. Also, make sure to check out their leather mason jar holsters and lanyards as well…all made of thick, buttery leather and will last a lifetime. There is nothing better than an honest and hardworking company that brings you amazing and well made products!

MAMA

Mrs. Patels // Treats to Increase Your Milk Supply

To all of my fellow breastfeeding mamas…can we just all agree with how wonderful breastfeeding it is? It is one of the most wonderful things I have ever done. The restfulness it brings, the quiet, the bond it creates between you and your baby is so strong. I never knew I would love it this much before I had Stiles Vaughan but it really is completely wonderful.

I was sent a delicious package full of milk supply increasing goodies from Mrs. Patel’s. They sent a package of their fenugreek bars, Milk Water Tea and Munch Crunch. When these arrived they all looked and smelled just so aromatic and wonderful. This company has an amazing history and story and all of their products are specially formulated to help heal the postpartum body and increase milk supply naturally and ayurvedically. I was excited to try this because anything that can enhance your breastfeeding experience always catches my eye.

If any of you have taken Fenugreek then you know that quickly after starting you will begin to smell like a bucket of maple syrup walking around! Fenugreek does amazing things for your milk supply and these bars do just the same as a fenugreek supplement without making you smell like syrup and they are a whole lot more enjoyable than just taking some pills. They come in 3 delicious flavors original, peanut butter and chocolate…of course the chocolate was my favorite! I will say that the first few times you eat them they have a very strong flavor and it is an acquired taste. The Milk Water tea in chai spice is super delicious and tastes WAY better than Mothers Milk tea. While I had to force Mothers Milk down, the Milk Water I actually enjoyed drinking. I added some milk and honey and it was perfect! This is a super easy way to add a big milk booster to your diet and daily routine. The Munch Crunch is an extra little something to add to your favorite food. It has a great toasted nut taste and is delicious on all kinds of things! It is great in oatmeal, yogurt or just take a little handful as you walk by. I have only been incorporating these three treats into my diet for a week but I have noticed a definite increase in milk supply! These have been a helping hand as my son is currently cutting teeth and wanting to nurse pretty much all day long. I never missed a beat and was able to keep that little belly full and happy! Thank you so so much for sending all of these things my way to the ladies at Mrs. Patel’s! Y’all know whats up about breast milk and the postpartum body!

You can find all of the items mentioned about at their website, www.mrsmilk.com and don’t forget to check out their Facebook page and Instagram!

At Home with You! Lingerie

You! Lingerie is a wonderful brand of stylish and comfy nursing and maternity lingerie. You! Lingerie was kind enough to send these nursing chemises to me free of charge and I am in love! They are so slinky to slip into and are easy as pie to nurse in as well as the perfect thing to wear around the house. I am a big fan of comfy things that allow easy boob access and these are both of those things plus more. The insides of the chemises have a pop of a bright color and the straps are nice and thick and supportive. A+ in my book! I highly recommend these to new nursing mamas! You can check these (and more amazing nursing bras/tanks and panties) at You! Lingerie. Happy, comfy nursing, mamas!

STYLEFILE //: Shag and Moto Leather

Today I am here with a new post featuring some of my favorite pieces of clothing. It has finally cooled down here in Texas (its about 50 degrees in the morning) and this temp drop has put me in such a good mood especially now that I can wear REAL clothes. Sooo over all the hot weather we had been having!

This amazing leather hat (made of 100% recycled lambskin) is from Heavy Metal Boyfriend. I have loved these hats for a while and now that I have one I plan to never take it off! I cant rave about it enough. And they may or may not have also sent me a little matching baby version for Stiles Vaughan to wear when he gets here…! My shaggy jacket is from The Lovers and Drifters Club . It is the perfect fall/winter layering piece! It makes any outfit look instantly cool. My tee is from the tried and true, Feather Hearts, and I am actually surprised it still fits me with this giant belly I am currently sporting! My ripped maternity jeans are from H&M and my ankle boots are by NANA. Also, in case you are wondering, I am 33 weeks pregnant in these photos! CRAZY TIME.
